Bari Palese airport, also called Karol Wojtyla Airport, is located 9 km north-west of the center of Bari. Bari airport has several daily connections with Rome and Milan, and with many other cities in Italy and Europe.

The central train station is located in downtown Bari, at 700 meters from Hotel Villa Romanazzi Carducci. Several direct trains connect Bari to Rome and Milan and to many other cities.

Coming by car, Bari is an exit of highway A14. As examples, highways A14 and A16 connect Bari to Rome (about 4 hours driving); highways A14 and A1 connect Bari to Milan (about 8 hours driving).

 

If you arrive by plane

To reach the conference venue from the airport, you have the following alternatives:

Shuttle bus is available from Bari airport to Bari central train station (Bari Centrale).

Journey time is 25/30 minutes. Tickets are sold onboard only. The cost is 4,00 €.

At Bari central train station, taxis are available. Otherwise, if you want to walk, take the underpass toward “via Capruzzi” exit. Keep right and go straight on via Capruzzi for about 700 meters, till you see the Hotel Villa Romanazzi Carducci entrance on the left side of the road.

Train is available from Bari airport to city center. Journey time is 14 minutes. Tickets are sold at the ticket machines. The cost is 5,00 €. Timetable and further information are available here. Take the train to “Bari Centrale”.

• If you want to walk to the conference venue, get off the train at “Quintino Sella” stop. The walk is about 400 meters. From the train station, go right under the bridge and take the stairs at the end. Then go right on via Capruzzi for about 200 meters, till you see the Hotel Villa Romanazzi Carducci entrance on the left side of the road.
• If you want to take a taxi, get off the train at Bari Centrale final stop. Taxis are available at the station exit. The cost is 8,00 € according to the flat rate established by the city council.

Taxi from airport to the conference venue costs 25,00 €, according to the flat rate established by the city council. Passengers have to advise the driver that they want to benefit from the flat rate when getting in the taxi. The flat rate is independent of the number of passengers and includes any possible surcharge. Multiple destinations are not allowed with this flate rate.

If you arrive by train

Many trains, including fast trains Frecciarossa and Frecciargento, stop in Bari. Train schedule is available here.

Please, take into account that train schedule usually changes at the end of May.

If you arrive by car

Coming from NORTH on highway A14

Take BARI NORD exit to E55 direction Bari Centro/Porto/Brindisi. Go straight on E55. Keep the right at the crossroads following the directions for Bari Centro/Brindisi and entering SS16. Take EXIT 11 to Bari-Poggiofranco and then the second exit to CENTRE/PORT. At he end of G. Tatarella street turn right (first exit of the traffic circle) and after 100 m turn left. Follow Via Cifarelli for 1 km getting on Via Capruzzi and finding the hotel entrance on the right.

Coming from SOUTH on highway A14

Take exit BARI SUD to enter SS271 to Bari. Enter SS16 through the crossroads to Brindisi/Taranto. Take EXIT 11 to Bari-Poggiofranco and then the second exit to Centro/Porto. At the end of G. Tatarella street turn right (first exit of the traffic circle) and after 100 m turn left. Follow Via Cifarelli for 1 km getting on Via Capruzzi and finding the hotel entrance on the right.
